Paul Huljich’s story, on the surface, may seem like one the average person may not be able to relate to. However, when one realizes what happened to the author of the Stress Pandemic, one can readily see how vulnerable we all are to the ravages of stress. If someone as successful and seemingly fulfilled can hit the wall of mental distress, then it’s fully possible for each of us. His book asks us to examine our lives and assess our stressors. He talks about what these stressors are and then provides us with a simple (not unlike many other self-help books) step-by-step path to a de-stressed life.
I am a walker. I walk on the beach, bare-foot five days a week in the pre dawn. After reading Huljich’s book, I wondered about his technique of pumping the arms to where the hands are at eye level during my walk. I tried it and I transformed a leisurely stroll into an aerobic work-out AND my posture improved; just from this one simple addition to my regime, my entire experience was transformed.
There is something in this book for everyone. Perhaps everything in the 9 steps are too much for you? I guarantee you will find something in his self-tested stress cure that will be beneficial. His resource section is comprehensive and helpful.
Remember, if you don’t take control of your stress…it will take control of you.
